Terms and Conditions

If your order is being shipped from us, we shall do our very best in packaging, to ensure safe delivery without damage. If it is coming directly from manufacturer or wholesaler, they will use their standard wrapping.

Transit and delivery insurance is mandatory for anything above $500.00, and is a condition of purchase from us. We may still choose to insure items less than $500, depending on type of product.

Full GST Tax Invoice will be sent with your product. We only sell to addresses within Australia which all require GST surcharge.

There are generally no pick-ups for online orders at out store in Mornington. If you want to pick it up from our Mornington Store (VIC), there is a small fee. Fees are dependent on size of product, due to delivery charges. Details available elsewhere or at Checkout. This is to partially cover costs for getting products from central warehouse or Supplier, to Mornington.

You wil receive automated emails as follows: (i) when we have received your order, (ii) when order is dispatched, and (iii) in the event of any delays or issues with your order.

Orders will only be delivered to physical addresses in Australia(No P.O Box Numbers, and some remote areas may not be covered), and our delivery methods usually require someone to sign for the goods on receipt.

If you are paying by Paypal, our obligations are to ship only to the person and address on the Paypal account.

We expect all dealings with you about your order to be done via email, not phones. The people answering our general business phone lines DO NOT have access to information about online store and orders, and will not be in a position to help you. Please don’t ask….send an email instead.

Orders will only be shipped once all payments have been cleared in our accounts.

Over-size orders (eg too large or weighing above 20kgs) may require specific quotation on shipping/delivery costs ( from one of our delivery agents). After you place such an order, we may contact you to discuss shipping costs, if necessary.

Returns Policy

We abide by the rights you have for refunds under the Australian Consumer Law, which is available at www.accc.gov.au. Please keep any receipt, as we shall require it as proof of purchase in all considerations for returns and/or refunds.

If you buy a product and decide that it is not what you want (and the product packaging has not been opened), you can return it within seven days of receiving it, for a refund of your money, provided that you agree to pay for the goods to be returned to us, and also agree to pay a ‘re-stocking’ fee of $10.00 (ten dollars). The re-stocking fee will be deducted from your refund.

You are responsible for the costs of returning the goods for us, and ensuring that it is not damaged in transit back to us. We recommend that you pay for transit (i.e shipping) insurance, if the goods are to be posted or couriered to us.

The main specific conditions are:

  • The original product packaging is NOT opened
  • You agree that we are entitled to deduct our handling charges plus postage/courier, plus re-stocking fee.
  • You pay for the full cost of the delivery of the product to us
  • You package the good properly for transportation back to us
  • You notify us before hand about the return
  • You put the original receipt (or copy of it) inside the packaging
  • You accept full responsibility for any damage of the goods while in transit to us. It is advisable to pay for insurance of the goods while in transit.
  • We shall NOT accept any goods sent by you where shipping costs are to be paid by us on arrival (i.e cash on delivery). Since we shall not accept them, such items will be returned to you by courier, and you will bear full responsibility for getting it back to you

Warranty Information

The Australian Consumer Law (details at: www.accc.gov.au ) says that a customer is entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if the goods do not meet their specifications or fail to be of acceptable standard or quality. We are entitled to provide you with a repair, a replacement, or alternative remedy. However, our assumption is that you have fully researched the items you want to buy and it should meet your needs if the specifications are correct, before buying it.

Part of the condition for buying a product from us online is that you agree to register the product with the manufacturer if necessary (as per manufacturer’s instruction) for warranty purposes. We shall need this evidence, if there is a need to help you with any dealings with the manufacturer (which we shall do, at our discretion and depending on the manufacturer or supplier).

If a product you buy from us is faulty, it immediately falls under ‘manufacturer’s warranty’ conditions. Please follow the manufacturer’s instructions for dealing with warranty matters. Please note that we are also reliant on the manufacturer or importer of the product to determine if the fault is a manufacturing fault or from abuse, or mis-use, or accident, by the user.

Hence, we do not have the capability to test these products ourselves, and usual warranty conditions require that the product be sent by the consumer directly back to the manufacturer or their nominated local service agents.

We strongly recommend that, wherever possible, you purchase an extended warranty service for your product. Details are available on our website (here).

If a product arrives to you but does not work from Day 1, it is classified as ‘dead on arrival’ (DOA). Please notify us immediately of any DOAs and we shall work with you to get a replacement part. Any of our costs incurred in processing a product which is claimed to be DOA but is not in fact DOA will be met by the customer.

You need to pay for the freight back to us. If it is determined (by the manufacturer or their service agent) that the product is indeed DOA, you will be re-imbursed for freight costs to return the product.

Hopefully you will understand that, since we don’t make the products, the onus of determining if a product is DOA rests with the wholesale supplier or manufacturer, not with Alpha Computers.

Pleae note that all warranty claims and DOAs will be tested by the manufacturer to determine if the claim is true (and confirm that damage could not have occurred in any other way). Further action (eg replacement item) will only be processed after these assessments.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to cancel a sale if we have (unintentionally) made an error in the listing. You will be given a full refund promptly(using same method as payment) in the event that we have to do this. Note that sometimes, due to technology constraints, we cannot remove a wrong listing, until the next re-fresh of listings. We do not enter into negotiations regarding such refunds.

No responsibility is taken for any errors in the listing. Importantly, we have stock for all our listings at the time of listing, but shortages may occur due to high demand, or errors. Please accept our apologies about this. We shall do our best to meet your orders (and will issue a refund promptly if, for some reason, we cannot meet your order).

Any photos presented are usually generic only, and actual item may have some different components. It is not possible to have photos of every configuration and variations of the various models of a product (eg laptops, cameras), and sometimes differences cannot be visible in a photos. Please refer to the product specifications for the exact details of the particular product and/or model you are interested in.

All information in our online store is provided on an E&OE basis (i.e all Errors and Ommissions are Excepted)

We would appreciate if you can please advise us of any errors which you notice. We shall show our gratitude by giving you a small discount on your order. The size of the discount will be dependent on the product you purchase, as various products have different margins.

The Alpha Online Store currently only ships within Australia. All orders shipped come with Insurance.
