If you have not been at Alpha for the past few months, next time you drive past take a look.

The old dark and dull blue colour is gone. This has been replaced by a bright
orange-ish external colour, whichyou could not possible miss!

This has been in response to feedback from customers that they
didn’t know Alpha computers was there, even if it has been around for over 20 years!

Alpha Computers Training Programs

ENROLMENT:

Please supply your details here, to express interest in a course. We shall get back to you within a few days.

We shall start offering various Computer Training programs from February 2010. We offer classes consisting of only small groups (between 5 to 9 participants only), in our Training Room at the Store, or at your Office if you are a Business. Some courses are also available to individuals (i.e one-on-one, at our Training Room or at your home or office).

We have several trainers available; to handle different levels and types of courses, including Microsoft Certified Trainers. Several of our trainers work in the Training and Education industry professionally, while others are technical people who just know their stuff very well.

  • Photo editing (eg using Photoshop)

  • Microsoft Access ( Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced, 2003, 2007)

If a course you are interested in is not listed above, send in your expression of interest anyway. If there is enough interest, we may be able to find a trainer to run it for us. You have nothing to lose by registering your interest with us. Click here!

TRAINING TIMES:

In general we try and schedule our training times for early evenings during week days (Mondays to Thursdays, 5.30pm to 9.30pm), or Saturdays (9.30am to 2.00pm).

We run courses based on demand. Hence, if you are interested in a particular course, please register your interest here. We shall get back to you to inform you when that course will be running next.

All fees must be paid in full, prior to the start of the course.

FEES:

Although the fees payable depends on the level, duration, and type of course, in general we charge between $20.00 to $35 per hour (plus GST) for most of our courses. We shall promptly let you know the duration and fees for the course which you have expressed interest in.

DURATION:

Courses are usually packaged to take one of 2hrs, 4hrs, 6hrs or 8hrs. Any course which lasts more that 3hrs will usually be taken over several days or weeks. Proposed time table will be given to you prior to your enrolment in course.

COURSE NOTES:

For most courses, we use professionally prepaired (not by Alpha) Course Notes or Workshop Books (usually hundreds of pages) which have been prepared and published professionally. They usually cost between $20 to $50, depending on the course.  This is on top of the fees. If a course uses a Course Note, all participants must purchase the course note. This makes the class progress at the desired rate. Also, please note that most of these Course Notes or Workshop Books also come with data and exercises which you can download for your own practice.

MACHINES & SOFTWARE SUPPLIED:

  • We supply PCs for courses involving PCs. However, you are welcome to bring your own laptop, if you prefer.
  • We DO NOT supply Macs machines…you have to bring your own Mac machine.
  • For some specialized software, you may need to bring your own laptop with the software on it. You will be advised prior to enrolment.
